- Vranov nad Dyjí (21 km) — a fairy-tale château above the Dyje reservoir, popular for swimming and boat trips in summer.
- Laa an der Thaya thermal spa, Austria (45 km) — a relaxed day at the thermal baths just across the border.
- Lednice–Valtice area — the UNESCO-listed château landscape, a bit further afield but worth the drive for wine lovers.
